You will see how each of these will have a different structure and that your focus will depend on the outcome you desire.

Of course, you can include many of these in your portfolio however your structure will change with each one. Fortunately, the basics remain fairly fixed therefore we will use that as a starting point.

Keywords are the basis for any success

With well over four billion blogs out on the market and 3.5 billion searches on Google every day, what chance do you have of being read?

First of all, It's estimated that 77% of internet users read and interact with blogs.
The one thing that brings success is the correct use of Keywords

A Keyword is simply the search term used by readers to find an answer or solution to a problem.
It may be with Google, Bing, Youtube, or any others and it may also be typed or asked into a voice service like Siri or Cardona.

Every single search term has competing factors that make a difference.

  • Traffic
  • Competition
  • Listing page

Too much or too little is the difference between making it or languishing in the low-order pages for a lifetime.

You aim to get to page one of a search term and this can only be achieved with a good Keyword and SEO.

Fortunately, we have tools to help you. Jaaxy Keyword Tool is free with Wealthy Affiliate or for the more professional service jaaxy direct.

Choosing a host

There are many ways of writing a blog however the most popular is WordPress.

Your blog may be stand-alone or part of a website however there are paid platforms you can use for blogging. One downside of using these is that you are captive to their hosting and can't move away.

I like Wealthy Affiliate because it's really blogger central. Domains, hosting, training, support, and a great forum for all those questions that need to be answered.

You need to start somewhere so learn a few basics before you leap into the unknown.

How to write blogs for beginners that are consistent to your image

Standardise your template

A big part of blogging is branding yourself or your business. You can do this by being consistent in your delivery so readers instantly recognise you as the authority.

Because page opening speed is now a major factor with Google you should not be top-heavy with a big logo. I changed mine and got an immediate increase in speed. Therefore keep your logo simple and your background clear.

Use color and pictures to make reading easier and have lots of headings and subheadings.

This page is an example of my template and stays consistent with most of my posts. This way I am sure I can include all the little parts that are needed.

I use Yoast SEO to help me with both writing and SEO. This is a WordPress plugin that is running reports on your errors and achievements.

Understanding keywords is essential to have any chance of success

Writing content that matters

How to write blogs for beginners and never look back

Always remember you are writing for the reader. It should be clear and nontechnical however with links to a higher authority.

Most blogs answer a question or solve a problem so expand on your heading to deliver a conclusion. Some writers like to answer the question early in the blog to satisfy those seeking a simple answer. You will then go on to explain all your reasons for the readers that want more.

Blogging is not story writing however you do need to have a plot, a hero, an enemy, and a solution.

However you can start at the ending and then explain why. That is provide the answer and then justify the reasons for it.

How to write blogs for beginners with authority

Authority sites rank quicker

As a reader you want to know that you are getting the best available information. Likewise Google also want to give you information backed by expert opinion.

If you were blogging on how to build a multi story building a rank amateur opinion is not acceptable. They want an engineer with a history in building to provide the appropriate advise.

How ever if you write the blog and refer to the engineer as your source of information you are showing authority and will improve your ranking credibility.

I have been in business for over forty years and completed the full online training at Wealthy Affiliate, plus mostly appearing in the top 150 contributors on their list. I have built my authority but a new comer may not bring that with them.

Let your blogging adventure begin

How to write blogs for beginners

Forget the rules for a short time and write some material. Pick a subject, find a question about it and write the answer.

Until you put pen to paper ( or click the keys) it is just a dream. Make it real and to hell with the consequences. You can do no wrong only that of still dreaming.

An average good blog is around 1500 words and that takes a bit of doing at the start of the journey. I struggled to reach 500 in my first attempts until I found the secret of words.

Blogging is short sentences and short paragraphs without technical descriptions.
It should be written in a positive style with ideas joined together.

The secret is to write your headings first. Find a dozen or so headings that relate to the subject and put them on the page. Now a simple 100 words per heading with a conclusion gives you a working product.
Throw around a few pictures and some graphs, add a dash of colour and you have a finished product.

Never use copied material unless as a quote

The world can see copied material and Google will flog you unmercifully for trying to pull the wool over the readers eyes. Making minor changes does not work it is still plagerism.

The beauty of a good blog is its originality. You may even be wrong in what you propose but it is your voice and you own it.

How to write blogs for beginners and make money

How to write blogs for money

The easiest way to write for money is to not write for money. Blogging is art not copywriting for an advertising agency trying to suck money out of the unsuspecting.

However you can make more money than you could spend by blogging but it takes time.

As you build a following of readers and gain trust they will buy from you or use your affiliate links. They will even click on the advertising that will pop up because they love you.

Forget the money until you really understand what you are doing, and even then think about it a little longer.

Off course you can throw in a few affiliate links or links to buy product just in case you have an interested spectator but don't be brash about it. Take it easy to make it easy.

Blogging is not a get rich solution

How to write blogs for beginners

This is a career you are building and it will take time, many months even years to reach your potential. It does not happen overnight.
That is why you need to write about something you are deeply interested in so you can stay excited over the journey.

I am not trying to put you off, quite the opposite actually, however, I want you to enter this experience with your mind open so that you continue to the long term.

A blog takes a couple of hours to write, even longer with research and set up so wasting those hours is a sin.

Conclusion

For those that love to write it is the best job in town. It is creative and enjoyed by many plus it can return hansome rewards. What's not to love?

There are rules and understanding a few of those before you embark on the voyage will make it a lot easier.

I have tried to cover many of those to help you set sail in a positive and productive way.

Thanks for the comments I agree that branding is important and write everything I do under my own name with a picture and history. Does it work? You never know.
I do a monthly Newsletter for another business and have for a few years with nothing in feedback when I publish.
However, I have increasingly found that when I talk to the recipients they tell me how much they enjoy the product which boosts me immensely.
That is why these Website reviews work on a personal level when we get positive vibes that you have helped someone.

Thanks for the positive vibes and best wishes
