I have written a Monster Insights review because of the history and reasons that it can make your blogging life easier and attract better customers.
The history of Monster Insights
This is really not a monster but a simple way of showing your Google analytics on your page. Plus it highlights all the aspects in an easy to read format.
First developed by Yoast, the creator of Yoast SEO, it was sold to Syed Balkhi the owner of Optin Monsters and Pretty Links, among many others.
I shall write about pretty links below and in my next blog.
With over two million users, this plugin takes analytics to a new level.
Why Use Monster Insights
The Insights dashboard is on your page login.
Therefore, you will be presented with live information when you log in. The amount of information will depend on the version you have.
Free, one site, pro etc. As per my normal plan, we shall look at the free version that should always be tried first.
Never buy in haste you will regret in the long term.
Saying that Monster Insights really works well.
What can you see that makes a difference?
The first image is your current activity and this is shown every time you open a domain.
This example demonstrates all your current activity. Furthermore, they compare to last month as well so you can quickly see any gain or loss.
The figures shown could be in the thousands and this real blog is used as an example.
Importantly your daily breakdown
In short, you will see what days are the good ones and those that make a difference.
This is then broken down even further. New customers v returning ones and what device they use.
This is the free version and limited into the full scope of the plugin.
You will immediately see eCommerce results and extended publisher reports are all available.
Every good plugin has its downsides and Monster is one of them.
The cons of the Monster insights plugin
There are always the dreaded cons so we must consider them.
It is called a Plugin.
OK, big deal you say so what?
For good SEO we are long taught to limit the number of plugins used on any site. Therefore the application will change your Google success ratio.
Google Analytics has all this anyway.
The details are mined from Google Analytics and presented to you in a more acceptable way.
The pro's of MonsterInsights
My first impression is that Insight is in your face, you do not have to go searching for information. It is presented to you in an easy to follow format.
You will immediately see your progress both good and bad so that changes can be made.
Monsterinsight will drive you to change so that your results will be reflected by activity.
This is to say that your red coloured results are from your activity. Furthermore, they are yours to correct.
Moreover, these are danger signals that reflect pore SEO on your page.
You will see which pages or posts are performing best and follow these with a backup article.
The Monster stays current even when changing themes so there is no need to redo the coding inputs.

Installation of Monster insights is a relatively easy plan. This is very well laid out on their site so I won't try and reproduce it. better I link you straight to the page from my Monster Insights review link
It is an easy process and takes little time to accomplish. Support is available at all times
Other products that reflect the input
I am a user of Pretty links a product from the same stable.
This also shows on the dashboard with a new link input.
Pretty links do many things but importantly the two I use most are:
- Your link is consistent through all pages, therefore do it once and use it often.
- Real-time reporting of activity
Since the two are interrelated, I included it in as a bonus
The monster group has many plugins that you can use and they are linked on this site so I don't repeat them,
I really like Monsterinsights and recommend you try the free version.
By doing this you often get a deal to upgrade with a premium discount.
Syed Balkhi has put together a very good stable of small business products. Some of these he bought on market and then upgraded them to meet what he considers a premium product.
He is extremely successful and the products are first-class therefore following him is a healthy pursuit.
The products are not scams or spam and come with a 5-star rating and millions of users. hence my MonsterInsight review.
In conclusion,
Like any review, it requires extensive research to get your facts in line. I have used Monster insights for over a year now and only recently came to value it highly.
Only green updates are acceptable and I shall not tolerate any decline in a constant path of success. A decline is often the result of a slowdown in your input. More posts equal more readers and more page time.
The free version is a must-do, the paid version is a choice that you will make.

Thank you for this enlightening review of Monster Insights. It is good to know that there are free plugins out there that one can use instead of Google Analytics, which I find painful to understand.
I use a paid plugin presently that does this job for me and I love it, but the problem is that it is not compatible with all my websites and from time to time causes issues. So Monster Insights may be a better option for these websites.
I will just check that it doesn’t slow my website down too much.

I don’t believe it has any effect on site speed.
On a test on this page, I got 100% on fixed and 97% on mobile so it is not all bad.
That is now pretty consistent with my posts using the WA speed test calculator
