The importance of Keywords

marketing-and-business-online

You may hear Keywords, Keyphrases, long-tail Keywords however they all refer to the same thing, A search term that finds you on Google. The more specific the term the greater the chance of being found.
When starting a blogging career and having a niche it is time to sit down and write out 100 keywords associated with your endeavors.
Even more, if you are going to be very active.
Therefore you have your Goals laid out for the next period of time. For example at 15 blogs a month you have 6 months of supply ready to go.
Using a Keyword Tool and a Google search make sure you have enough traffic and that the competition is real.

Remember that you need to be on page one of a search term or you are just back in the pack. It won't happen overnight but if you choose your words well it will get there in a reasonable amount of time
You have six months of material ready to go thus saving you searching around every time you decide to write.

Breaking your Keywords into easy blocks

This keeps your material current and your juices ready to flow as you are fully armed with appropriate material.

Niche may be “Shoes for men involved in sport”
Best soccer boots
Why do forwards prefer colored boots ( a bunch of show-offs)
Are wet weather boots different to dry weather
Do you prefer rubber to steel studs and why
How to lace a boot for better kicking
Does boot polishing take your luck away
Is Clear polish better than the ones with some color
the 7 best boots available and why
Can you get away with cheap brands

This is turning one Keyword into a whole host of subjects to write about. These are closely connected however on the one subject and using similar research.
Hiking boots, skiing boots, walking shoes, running, jogging the list is long and never boring.

Phrasing your keywords into a great headline

A good headline will have about 10 words however limited to less than 55 characters.
This is the optimum number in search results allowed.

Most readers only look at the first 3 words and the last three words when browsing a search.
In my case Easy blog templates ……… Make a difference. This still presents recognized content.

Spicing your phrase up

There are lots of ways to do this and not all will be used every time but they are at your call.

  • 1) Using capitals in all your words. For some reason known only to Google this helps with your search term and is generally used by nearly all leading players.
It is a habit that you need to adopt to have equall apeal.
  • 2) Using numbers in your heading. The jury is out on this howevr it is believed that the searching eyes adopt numbers quicker than words. There could be 3 reasons for this however high numbers distract me as I want a condensed version. Furthermore I have seen high numbers work very well so it is a matter of tast.
Adding to this odd numbers are preferred to even numbers so keep them at odds because a lot of thought has gone into the rational for number choice.
  • 3) Throw in Power words when you can to give strenght to your statement however emotional words work as well drawing on readers emotion button.
  • 4) How to headings average more engarements than most other methods so use it often for best results

I use a tool from Monster Insights in my Word Press site that ranks my headings for me.
This is a guide only however it makes you think more deeply when you are composing words.

It looks at the complete profile and provides tips and suggestions to make improvements.

I Failed on this one scoring slightly below the required 70

Easy Blog Templates demand a good Meta description

The deal maker, your Meta Description

When a looker arrives at page one of a search term, in most cases, they will look at the first three free listings for an answer.
The headlines are all similar so they look at the 160 characters describing your page and providing all the reasons it should be read before the others.
Mystery works as you promise something they desperately need. Excitement works when 9/10 readers benefited from your blog, Truth works when it is explained. History works when it has been successful time after time.
Finally just answering the questions they want answered works
Check your competitors and see what they are saying and do it better. A single word can make a massive difference.

How to write a Meta description
Easy Blog Templates and the 5 Rules to make a difference

Here are two posts on the same page and same subject. One gets 74,114 visits the other 249.
The first meta captures imagination the second is technical and self-indulgent
Minor differences however massive results when it is done correctly.
When you get your meta correct the results will come.

What is site authority and why does it matter

Our friend Google looks for the best answer to a question, however, he also looks for the most reliable person to provide the answer.
If it was an accounting question, as an example, A Charted accountant firm would have way more authority than little old you from the backblocks. This is the trust factor kicking in big time and giving undue preference to the highest authority.

However, Google also likes solid research to back up your assumptions. Therefore quoting The Charted group and comparing them to the local University results proves you have done the work and elevates you up with the esteem.
You build your trust on the backs of others..

When you have written over time and people have got to know you and actually like what you write then it is easy to gather trust due to your history in providing solutions.
This is just one of the many parameters that Google considers however it can be a stumbling block if you don't counter higher authority in some ways.
In the example above I would think that the Blog starter might have an edge on ryrob helping with the results.

Prepare your work before you write.

Internal linksGoing to other pages to support your work
External linksGoing to other experts to back up your words
Affiliate linksThe Money ones
BacklinksComing from other sites
Backlinks from authorityThese are valuable to Google

This is quite a list and all are necessary for good SEO. Backlinks are harder to gather and should not be bought from shonky operators. Google knows good from bad so trying to trick her is unwise.
In recent changes to the Google algorithm, they now demand to know when the link should not be followed in a search term This is particularly so for Affiliate links. In WordPress, you have a drop-down box that requires your attention.

Number one is used when you send readers to a new site. When this box is ticked

Inputting diversion rules

The reader will be returned to the current site when he logs out. A very useful tool to not lose them altogether.
Number two is your affiliate links and always used.
Other sites that don't add to the page information come under number three. Google does not want to go wandering new pages that don't relate to the tracking term.

Other Blog sites will have a similar area for your attention. When you break the rules you will be penalized, so treat them with respect.

Have a list of all your links ready to copy and paste when needed. I use Pretty Links to cloak my links and keep track of the number of clicks made.
When writing a blog I don't need to go scrambling for links they are all ready for me as part of my planning process.

My Conclusion

You should see by now a lot of work goes into setting up a blog post before the writing commences. In fact, if you get all this wrong no one will read your stuff so the writing is incidental.
Good structure, even in the form of mind templates, makes blog writing easier and will help avoid the writer's block we all suffer at times.
The more you plan at the start the easier the process going forward.

Continued training supports good work and produces extra results.
