When we are in business we sometimes want something light. Here, Peter Hanley adds a few quotes and stories that will help in your business.
Why would I do business quotes?
I will start with my own favorites that I repeat to myself regularly.
If you do nothing you get the same (NOTHING)
Peter Hanley
My heading and quote are much the same that say business is not a game. It's about pushing the envelope and seeing what works best.
Make a plan, set a target and a time line
Peter Hanley
I wrote a book on business that compared your business life with that of a holiday plan.
When you plan a holiday you do it in full detail. When you start when you finish. Where do you go, and how will you spend every small detail so you don't mess with the experience?
Your business that allows the holiday should be no different

Every year a new plan and a new Cashflow.
No exceptions
Now to marketing and something we all don't know or forget and it is called the rule of 7
A customer needs to be touched 7 times before they will buy from you.
They need to see an Advert 7 times before they will buy from you.
Repetition is the name of the game
Ancient law of marketing
Firstly, I did not make this up. It is a golden rule of marketing and has stood the test of time. You can google away to see all the stories or ask me what are seven touches.
Meeting someone, calling them, referring to Facebook, Instagram, or social media.
email sequence and newsletter.
SMS, web page, voice communications, advertising, etc.
Why are the 7 rules important?
My belief is that it is based on a similar story behind buyer behavior
KNOW…..LIKE…..and TRUST

This is posed around how people buy and the process they go through. We like to buy from people we know or we need to get to know people to see if we like them.
We don't want to buy from scammers and swindlers so we do some initial homework.
This initial homework may take any form
Social media, if done correctly is chain mail.
Peter Hanley
The explicit purpose of social media for business is to pass a buyer to the next step in the process.
Your social media is to entertain, interest, and get them to a buying point be it a Web page or direct contact.
This is the same as an email, a newsletter, or other contact that does not have a big call to action button in the middle of its head.
This can be shown by not sending people from a Web page to a social media site.
When your buyers go on social media they are like Butterflies and flit from spot to spot and you probably lose them along the way.
On your website, they go from page to page and then the buy button or give me more information.
Phone numbers rock
On your web page for business always have a phone number and address above the fold
Me again
I deal with a lot of businesses and it is frustrating when logging in from mobile phones and having to go on a site search to get information. If it is too hard we just might move on.
Change is moving quicker now than ever before.
Same guy as before
Growing up in business in the olden days, we had a yellow pages book every year for about 100 years and paid out oodles of money every year to get a good spot.
What is good this year in marketing may well change next year or before.
You really need to stay on top of this because change is coming.
I said that social media is not there to sell things well by the end of this year and that will probably not be true anymore.
For example, Instagram is beta testing buy buttons on a post. Yes, a picture of a toaster, a price, and a purchase now.
Facebook, which owns Instagram, is putting a lot of resources behind this product so follow it well.

Whether you think you can or you think you can't– your right.

Great things are not done by one person but by a team of people
Steve Jobs
Having an “I can do” attitude is really necessary for everything you do. You will have down days, good days, and really crappy days but they don't affect the journey if you know where you are going.
There are two things it is not worth worrying about. What happened yesterday and what will happen tomorrow. They can't be fixed or changed by you
