Earn money fast

Here Peter Hanley discusses a well-known question on how to earn money fast and importantly keep it in your pocket for the better days ahead.

You want money now but you have none so what can you do?

We all have this dilemma at some point in our life and it is how we respond that will make a difference.

Now, look at the things that don't work.

  • Crying might help for five minutes
  • Sulking makes us feel worse and brings black clouds over our heads
  • Drugs and alcohol might take your mind away but the problem stays.
  • Blaming someone or something else is not a fixer
  • Avoiding the issues just wastes time and achieves nothing
  • Doing nothing achieves nothing and gets you the same

We are all guilty of some or all of these at some time. My best is to avoid a situation and hope it fixes itself but alas it never does.

So now I have made you feel bad about yourself what the heck can we do?

Making money is easy but is it ever enough

That's ok for me to say but how can you do it?

The first answer is always the easy one and that is to tell you to get a job, ask for a pay increase or a second job and budget your future.

Very easy for anyone to say but not always that easy to achieve for lots of reasons.

The next answer on the easy list is to cut your expenses. So often I see the poorer of us smoking and guzzling large bottles of bought drinks while feeding a couple of dogs.

Don't laugh, it is a real problem for many and they can't see it. They need the cool drink for the diabetes that it has caused and get a quick sugar fix.

Answer the question, how to make money?

The first question is what are you good at?
It is no good telling a Blacksmith to write poetry for a living.

In my country, and probably yours they have a service that offers work in your local area then you bid for the work and if successful do it, often at a low rate but at least it is an opportunity.

If you are good at gardening as an example you could quickly build a client list doing easy jobs. A client list that can be onsold at a profit.

I have a friend that builds up a window cleaning area. He door knocks for jobs and builds a regular customer round. When it is going well he sells it for a years revenue and starts again.
Hey, you need a ladder, some clothes and a proper window scrape. It is easy to learn with few overheads or problems.

There are many people that want household chores done and you could be the one.

Do nothing and what do you get?

Grab a sheet of paper and make a plan.
What are you going to do?
How much money are you going to make in money?
Also, what is a reasonable timeline for this?
The amount of time you will spend on it?

Then do something and do it well and you will make money.
Shoe cleaners make money, Street guides make money, beggars make money there are no excuses except your own.

I understand this is when it gets hard, we all need motivation and that is why we have a plan that we look at every day and say why not?
Share your plan and get a driving force to kick you along working to a Goal.

Make money fast
It's not all easy

Instant and honest money is not easy.

I won't go anywhere near anything Illegal or the mugs games of gambling in this post. The people that make the money make sure it is them and not you.

Multi-Level Marketing

A great way to create a fortune, unfortunately, is only for the very few. For the rest of us, the old 80% group will work our butts off for very little.
It requires a particular type of luck or skill to ever rise above the average. I have seen it tried many times, most often coming to standstill overtime.
You need investment money, lots of time and a way to destroy friendships to have any chance of success.

It is, however, a reasonably cheap entry into the market that just about anyone can learn. If it suits you give it a go and work toward that top 20%.
I have many friends that sell Herbalife weight loss and health products. I use the product myself so I believe it is good but can you make money?

I do know a couple that are killing it with Herbalife. A big monthly income after many years of dedication because of timing. Everyone else I know made very little.

Tupperware is having a comeback and many others that you can Google to choose for something you like.

It takes a lot of effort and training but it can be done.

Social media

The rise in social media is leaving many businesses behind. They can't do without it but they can't spend the time doing it creating a dilemma.

Learning one Social media platform can provide you with the 0pportunity to either do it for others or teach them how.

Teaching earns good money so this is a quick entry to an on-demand problem.

Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and more are there waiting for someone to use them.

Internet and making Money

There are more opportunities on the Net than anywhere else to make money.

There are more scams on the Net than anywhere else.
I have a cupboard load of courses that I have bought, read, attended that did not work for me.
The one ingredient that was missing was proper training to provide any chance of success.
Like everything else, you need training and one place where you can get this for free (a couple of countries not available) is at the Wealthy Affiliate. Start with the free course and learn what it is all about. Ask questions on the blog and read about the results of others. Work out what you want to do and go in that direction.

It costs you nothing to try this and my guarantee is that at the very least you will learn something right through to a lot.

Don't waste your time being unproductive

Time is precious, wasting it is wrong and making a success of something is rewarding.

We have covered a few ideas that may help you achieve a goal, Ideas that are useless unless you do something for yourself.

What sort of people makes money on the Internet?
How about an 80-year-old grandmother, a 20-year-old kid living in Taiwan and everyone in between?

If you have read this far you are keen to succeed so, come on, jump in and start a life today.

How to use Instagram for business

image of Instgram
Use it or lose it

Here, Peter Hanley looks at how to use Instagram for business. It is growing much faster than the big brother and creating many more opportunities.

In case you hadn't noticed, Instagram is owned by YouTube.

So they are not competitive, they just live in different worlds.
FaceBook, or more correctly Mark Zuckerberg purchased Instagram way back in 2012 for the ridiculous sum of $1 billion.
This is no business model screamed the masses you are just wasting money to prop up Facebook.
Now Instagram is worth over $50 billion so who is having the last laugh?

What is Instagram anyway?

Instagram is a lot to many people but today let's leave it to business use.
Now I am an old bloke that has come up using social media as both a family guide and a business tool.

I watch others using Instagram for business and see the success stories they have, stories of building a following that translates into business, income and success.

It does require a mind shift but once made it becomes an easy journey.

You will use #tags to achieve a following and brand building strategies to really grow an audience.
Then there are stories to tell with pictures and sales to be made online.

Instagram becomes more than just Social

Having pushed Social Media in business for a long time I have always said that the idea is to push clients to your web page where they can buy things. Your home page is a selling vehicle the others just push traffic to you.

A problem with this theory is that the internet challengers move quickly and we need to move with them.

When you tap to view a product from a brand’s shopping post, you’ll see a “Checkout on Instagram” button on the product page. Tap it to select from various options such as size or colour, then you’ll proceed to payment without leaving Instagram. You’ll only need to enter your name, email, billing information and shipping address the first time you check out.
Once your first order is complete, your information will be securely saved for convenience the next time you shop. You’ll also receive notifications about shipment and delivery right inside Instagram, so you can keep track of your purchase.

Instagram, March 2019

Now don't get too excited unless you are in the USA. This is still in Beta testing so not available worldwide yet.

Now that is just a start

So Instagram is changing how we do business

The important point here is that when the big brands see the opportunity it is real and we smaller folk should follow the way.

We need to prepare for a new era in social media that has shifted the goalposts.

A friend of mine has a busy hairdressing salon. The only marketing and bookings are on Instagram. Three posts every day on the latest hair creations.

You can now shop in videos from your favourite brands. When you see a video in Feed from a brand you follow, tap the shopping icon in the bottom left corner to reveal the featured products and learn more about them.

As I said the World is changing and you need to change with it.

Instagram or Facebook maybe both

It is a dilemma we all have. My important point is whichever you choose to keep it current and keep it entertaining.

A close friend runs a retail shop and posts daily on both. She finds that Instagram gets more attention than Facebook.

It was maybe a fact that Instagram is for the young and they don't use Facebook anymore.
Us oldies are now using Instagram to follow the exploits of our kids and grandchildren, so we have become very Instagram friendly, shifting the local bias away from a single product.
Facebook is still bigger than all else so it must be a consideration for any business and doubling up your posts is no big deal. Done properly it is but a half-hour a day to gain much more than any other activity in customer delivery.

Do you need to do this anyway?

It is a fact, in my opinion, that if you are not doing it then someone else will stay in front of your customers and steal your business away from you.
Importantly, you won't know until it's far too late.

Load Instagram through a mobile phone and view it on the web

If you are new to Instagram you need a private account and a business account set up on your mobile phone or tablet.

  1. First of all, download the Instagram app from the app store. Do it on both your mobile and fixed device

Launch the app and create an account in one of two ways:

  • Option 1: Sign up with your email address or phone number, and then enter a username.
  • Option 2: If you have a Facebook account, you can log in with the same information and link the accounts.

3. You start with a personal page and then by default you go to Facebook to set up your business page. If you don't have a business page, do both at the same time

  1. Open the settings page on Facebook and scroll down until you reach the switch to a business profile. Now choose the Facebook page you want to link to and choose that whilst allowing them to connect with you.
  2. Pick your categories and subcategories that best describe your business
  3. Go back to your profile page and complete it. Remember this is an image business so use great pictures and writing to get some interest.
  4. learn to use Hashtags that you wish to link to.
  5. Request people to follow you and fill your picture gallery with interesting things.
  6. Now just post regularly and watch it grow.

Share your Instagram link

This is a pretty important part of the process, the more followers you have the better it will be for you. Pick photos from your file and just label them nicely to draw some interest and you are away.

The seven points of touch story

There is an old story or legend that a customer rarely buys anything before 7 touches of the product or business.
This is why we provide multiple avenues and opportunities for new and old customers to stay within your brand.
With email, we send a series of emails to get the attention and to visit a website or store.

Social media really adds to this with a regular update of your brand and image. An update that is necessary based around SEO and Keyword research to keep you at the front of the crowd.

Tailwind for Media

This is an online product with a free trial and an upgrade paid service.

If you get really serious with social media it is worth a good look at it to future post your media and to help your daily activity.

Where to get free pictures

This is another area where you need royalty-free pictures for your regular posts on any subject.

Pixabay.com is one and Wikimedia is another that may help your search.

Using incorrect pictures without payment may get you banned.
Remember also that you can use free pictures but they are not yours to sell or market.

Why use social media in business?

Customers, businesses, lenders and bankers all refer to your social media to get an insight into you and your business. What they must not see is a neglected site that displays little attention.
If you don't have time then get someone else to run the daily messages.

Your followers get to expect information to flow and appreciate your brand well into the future.
I follow several local businesses to look at their opportunities and I can tell you those that use the media to the max are the ones taking the business. If it is not you then it is someone else.

Social media and small business

Social media and small business are discussed by Peter Hanley The good and bad for your business plus things you must do to survive in the new Internet era.

Social media and small business
All media is good media but what is for you?

What is the best social media for your business?

There is no one answer fits all the solutions. Every business is different so a solution needs to be tailored around your needs.
Although you do need to have an understanding of the other forms of media to make a decision let's look at a few variables.

Facebook is the most dominant supplier because it owns Facebook, Instagram. messenger, Whats App, Oculus and Masquerade.

That's one heap of traffic, in fact, billions of traffic every day, every year.

Which channel is best?

Social media and small business

Instagram is growing faster than Facebook's core app.Furthermore  Instagram adds 300 million active users each month, whereas Facebook adds 228 million to its main service. Advertisers see four times as much engagement on Instagram as on Facebook. Sep 25, 2018

Now I bet that surprised you? I have seen the rise of Instagram in small businesses getting far better results, particularly in the 18-39 age group.

For a small business, this is a winner so you need to look closer at this.
I am well above the demographic and don't quite see the benefit but the younger set do so this is a leader

Social media and small business
A must-have service

Do you need LinkedIn?

I bought LinkedIn from the top because it has a special place in business.

LinkedIn is a repository of business people and those that want to be seen.

When we are seeking information on a person or business the first place to look is LinkedIn.
Nice picture, a bit of history and contact details.
It might be Bankers, Investors, legal or political
it matters not.

As well as this you can use this product as a sales venue and they have a bundle of training on this.

If you are shy and don't want exposure or people to see your happy snap my advice is to get out of business.

Business is about branding for both you and your product so accept the fact and move on.

The surge in the use of messenger

You don't have to be on Facebook's website or even have a Facebook account, to use Messenger. While the two are partially connected when you have a Facebook account, you aren't required to have one to use Messenger.

I mention this early because again I see growth in the younger set and this is becoming a dominant inclusion in the social network.

Some of the advantages of this service include

Home Screen advertising
On Facebook include click to message buttons
Use it for Prospecting, retargeting and educating

This is still in its infancy but growing so quickly it really needs to be in your bag.

The next best is YouTube and here is why.

Social media and small business
Fast-growing channel

YouTube has nearly as many searches as Google in any month and I am sure more time on site.
Being owned by Google YouTube is not competitive, it is also an option.

If this is true why do only 10% of American businesses use it?

The answer lies in the effort and procedure of doing a video versus a Facebook post.

They can set up a post in minutes but a Youtube in days.

Like all social media, YouTube is changing and that change comes with technology. You can now do a post from Mobile phones and have it on the air in minutes, not days.

Many companies are also streamlining production so the results are easier to find and to use.

As an example, one of my favorites is Nobel Samurai where a post can be done in a short time in a professional and presentable manner.

How to do things

All the above can be done on YouTube and with 1 Billion hits per month, it provides a mass of buyers that are looking for you.

Facebook is still king of the mountain

Yes, it is true Facebook still dominates the market and the advertising content still tops the bill.

I feel I don't need to push this too hard because we all have a Facebook account and probably a business account as well.

Social media and small business
Still on top after 15 years

The social network was founded in 2004 and reached the 1 billion-user milestone in October 2012, meaning it has signed up around 580,000 new users a day since then.

How we would love to get our hooks into that channel.

First of all and like any media, if it is not current it is doing you a disservice. That is one reason I often point out to limit your exposure and do one or two things properly.

The next is the rise and rise of retargeting. You will see it everywhere you look and wonder why? The simple answer is that it works and works well.

Retargeting, also known as remarketing, is a form of online advertising that can help you keep your brand in front of bounced traffic after they leave your website. …Retargeting is a tool designed to help companies reach the 98% of users who don't convert right away.

You can use retargeting across most social channels

Retargeting is not exclusive to Facebook, it is used in Google and Youtube as well as being a very healthy click convertor.

Yes, it does cost money but if you get a return it is well worth it.

Is Twitter still popular?

Donald Trump has taken it into an art form. He does not have the most tweets that still remain with Ronaldo ((English Football) but his get repeated more times by the press

Donald Trump
The Twitter King

Every day a new message

Politicians see this as a great medium, actors, sportspeople, singers all use it really well. If you have something to say, this could be a vehicle for you.
It is simple, takes little time and you can create a following of potential clients.
Remember, however, it is an entertainment channel, not a hard pitched sale.

WhatsApp is high on any list

WhatsApp Business is free to download the App, and was built with the small business owner in mind. With the app, businesses can interact with customers easily by using tools to automate, sort, and quickly respond to messages.

WhatsApp can help you provide customer support and deliver important notifications to your customers.

Whatsapp for business

I confess most of my Whatsapp use has been domestic and they compete with Messenger in the market. It certainly does have a role to play in customer service and support.

Other types of media

  • Snapchat
  • Pinterest
  • Tumblr
  • Webchat
  • QZone

There is also media that ha gone like Google+ and Voice channels of the past where technology has come so far in a short time

We don't want to bore you with every media and if any of these suit your market then great use them as you will.
Things change so you need to change with them.

In conclusion, I reiterate that these channels are needed in your business. Not all but some are necessary to grow your account base.

Social media for business is designed to send customers to a point where you sell them something and get a return on your investment in time and money.

Don't make the mistake of sending them to social media from your selling site.
Social is entertainment and when visiting you get lost from your main purpose.
