How to write better content for your blog and match what the new Google algorithms are looking for to find the first page of a search
Why is content so important
It has become really important that you gather readers and keep them on the page for a period of time. If you rank with another page with a similar Keyword the one that gets the most reader time will advance up the pages and the other down and even out the back door. Therefore content must really be reader-focused and directly answer the search query. This among other new rules that follow will make all the difference to your success
The rules of user intent
Conduct thorough research on your target audience and the keywords/topics that they are searching for. Use tools like Google Trends, Google Keyword Planner, and Jaxxy to identify popular search terms and topics in your niche.
Google now looks at user intent as much as Keywords. They break it down into subheadings
Do they want an answer to a question or problem??
Making a booking of some kind
Seeking directions to somewhere
Want to shop at local stores
Each of these is different therefore you should set your response appropriately.
Reading time has become an issue
Create high-quality, informative, and well-organized content that provides value to your target audience. Use clear headings, subheadings, and bullet points to make the content easy to read and digest.
Understand your audience and style your writing to suit the majority.
Remember that your audience is generally attention deficit so don't write long-winded articles instead come to the point as quickly as possible
In the past, Google rated content on the number of words however they have moved to minutes reading with 5 minutes as an average read
Therefore the average blog has come down from 1500 words to under a thousand
Optimize your content for relevant keywords and topics. Use them in your headings, subheadings, and throughout your content, but avoid keyword stuffing which is a tradition of the past.
Correct linking builds your Google love
Use internal and external links to provide additional value and context to your content. Link to relevant pages on your own website, as well as to high-quality external sources. Authority has become an important ranking point so justify why readers would follow your advice. Even borrow authority from others to boost your credibility
Social Media
Promote your content on social media and engage with your target audience. Use relevant hashtags, participate in relevant groups and communities, and respond to comments and questions from your followers. It is important to be consistent and persistent on social media so choose one and dominate it. My rule is to use Social Media as a delivery tool. I rarely point my blog readers away to get lost in social media.
However, YouTube is different. Linking to your own Channel or another appropriate source that is in line with your target audience can build great page time whilst the wander in the vast resources of the media. Always use the back button so that they return to your page
keep your content fresh
Regularly update and refresh your content to keep it relevant and up-to-date. This can help improve your search rankings and attract new visitors to your site. Doing simple changes brings your stale content back to life and improves your ranking. Take risks in your writing to be different
Summary
Finally creating high-quality content takes time and effort. Focus on providing value to your target audience and optimizing your content for relevant keywords and topics, and over time, you may see your content start to rank well in search engines.
